Monmouth County Association for the Blind

Monthly business meetings are held on the second Monday of the month from 6 PM to 8 PM. Their social meetings are every Thursday from 11 AM to 2 PM. Both the business meetings and the social meetings are held at their clubhouse at 3401 Belmar Blvd., Wall, NJ 07719.

Future Plans for all to know:

Since June, 2005 when Liz Walzer and the other officers were elected, the Monmouth County Association for the Blind (MCAFB) has renovated their clubhouse. They remodeled the first floor and outside overhang. The first floor improvements include upgraded heating, air conditioning and bathrooms. Plans still in the works are to redo the driveway, other outside areas and the second floor. The second floor will be used for offices, computers and meetings. They also acquired several new pieces of equipment for the visually impaired such as the Sarah, a talking dictionary and talking microwave, Braille writers and a Latin machine. Their hope is that blind citizens looking for social outings will come and enjoy their new facility with them.

For further information on our upcoming activities please call (732) 280-2326.

New Plans in the Works:

They plan on expanding our Thursday social program to include the following activities:
Games such as a day at the races, a baseball game, word games, and lunches with good conversations. Our summer season will close with a trip to the boardwalk for lunch, fun, and sun.
They are planning more day trips to places like:
The Garden for the Visually Impaired
Theatre
Concerts
Shopping trips
Racetrack at Monmouth Park
